OneNote program icon in the notification area of the taskbar missing

Felix Sawicki

I've installed the SP1 beta on two different machines, a laptop and a
desktop. On the desktop, the OneNote program icon that is supposed
to be in the notification area at the far right of the Microsoft
Windows taskbar is missing. It exists as it should on the laptop.

Does anyone know how I can get it to show up on the desktop machine ?

Thanks,

Felix

The feature is still there but you need to add it back
in ;) It's a known bug with the SP1 preview.

Ben Schorr posted this in another thread on how to fix
this:

::begin cut and paste::
Close OneNote. Copy and paste this text into a clean
Notepad window and
save it to your desktop as "Trayfix.reg"

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\OneNote]

"FirstBoot"= -

Then double-click that Trayfix.reg file to add it to the
registry. That
should fix it.

::end cut and paste::

Thank Ben. I was just quick with the clipboard ;)

It's posted on the FAQ (even a downloadable .REG file for those who don't
feel like do-it-yourselfers) for all to enjoy. :)
