I was working online when I hit send/receive and was prompted for a password.
I had no idea what password it wanted, and I guess I was wrong, because I
can't have outlook open while in online mode anymore. I want to sync up
calendars with coworkers, and can only do that in online mode. Any ideas how
to get online?

File>uncheck Work Offline
