Only sRGB profiles is accepted by word XP (Sp2)?

For quite some time I do my color corrections in Photoshop 7 with the
ECI-RGB.icc color profile, all in jpeg format.

Now I noticed: when I insert (link) the jpeg's into word and write a PDF
with that photos, I get strange color shifts when I look at them in
Photoshop.

Setups in the distiller, like "working colorspace RGB: ECI-RGB" or "don't
change colors", cannot avoid this behavior. Only "change all to sRGB" will
bring back the originally color (even I never applied sRGB to the photos!).
How can that happen? And how can I find a workaround for this effect?

Thank you

Michael Müller

You might consider searching Photoshop 7's Help files, or support, at their
website, to troubleshoot compatability issues. Some graphics import/export
better than others, but this can sometimes be complicated. One program may
not necessarily be compatable with the other. Any Word version has no
problem with interpreting data from the jpeg format, as for Photoshop 7, and
writing a PDF, I'm not sure.
