open a file on a server

hello
I would like to use an html page as a bookmark page but for internal use
so I use the following syntax to open a word file which is located on our
server 'vrvdb'

but it does not work ?

href="file://Vrvdb/files/Centexbel/InterneCTB/Centexbelintern5FR.doc">FR</a>

do you have an idea
