Open an Access Database from Another

I would like to open one Access database from a form on another. Is the
Shell function the best way to do this. - Thanks

If I use the Shell function - is there a way to send the user id and password
that the original database was opened with along to the other Access database?

Not without asking for their password again. See for an example of opening
a secure mdb from an unsecure one.
