Open an Excel file in the Excel application

Is there a way to open an excel file using a hyperlink (or another option)
and have it open in the actual Excel application instead of IE?

This is a company intranet so the excel file is located on our servers with
a mapped drive. The server is Windows NT 4.0 running IIS4.0 and frontpage
2000.

Thanks

Steve

For an Intranet hta is not needed, see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=162059
