open and close a document changes its date to present date

i am encountering problems while opening ang closing the documents in ms
office. the created date of the documents changes automatically to the new
present date without altering the docs in any way. how can i stop this
happening. please any one can help. thanks

Delete the "automated date" (can't remember what it is called) by
selecting it.
Then type in the original date manually.
