Open, Default View

In Office 2003 how do I make the open dialog box default to detail view?
Mine always goes back to list view.

Hey, "dude" ... try this:

Change the list you are looking at to the view you want to use as a default
(i.e. detail). Then choose Tools, Folder Options, View, then click the
"Apply to All Folders" button. This will make the existing view your default
view.

Does anyone know how to make this work? My question is the same as the one
"Dude" asked, but MM's reply does not work with Office, only with Windows
Exporer. The question Dude and I are asking comes into play when, within an
Office application, you try to open a file. It does not matter how you have
the Windows Explorer app set up; Office defaults to a list view. I never,
ever, ever want any view but detail view. I would be more than happy to make
the others unavailable, if that's what is required.
