open document error

whenever i double click a word file and open it, it gives a msg which says, "
the command can't be performed because a dialog box is open. Click ok, and
then close open dialog boxes to continue" :S i don't know what does this
mean.....

Hi Tauseef,

What version of Word and Windows are you using and are you double clicking it in Windows Explorer or in File=>Open in Word?

If File=>Open is active in Word while you double click in Windows Explorer that can be one cause of that error.
