Open documents in word 2007 is so slow! why?

Im totally new to office 2007, and I find it very slow opening documents.
it's always running a virusscan (note "running virusscan" in the down left
corner) before it opens, is that why it's so slow? is it possibe to remove
the virusscan. so it opens faster?

ok, so now I now what the problem is, thank you! but when I try to remove the
causing file from the office Startup folder, there's nothing there, the
folder is empty.

the other option is to go via ducuments and settings, but I can't find
documents and settings on my laptop?!

hmmz, and I have so many installed programs on my laptop that I don't know
which one is causing the problem, so I don't know which one to remove from
the installed programs list.

anyone any ideas?

Problem fixed, I unclicked a button in the Norton Virus program. much faster
now!
