RE: Shared Excel file on LAN locks up periodically and freezes all users out
Anyone else run into problems opening Excel files on the LAN (shared and
password protected file eventually locks everyone out, with an expired
user-alias listed as locking handle, like a co-worker's alias who is no
longer with the company)?
What's the best way to fix/restore workbook functionality. Every few days,
the shared file works fine and then locks everyone out. Once all connections
to the Excel file is closed (all shared users shutdown their machines for the
night or weekend), then the LAN share appears to restore functionality again.
Are there settings or registry keys that can target/focus the
troubleshooting steps?
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks for your help/insights.
