Open listbox crashes Access 2002

Regardless of which database I am using or which listbox I'm on, if the
listbox is dropped down and the focus is taken away from Access (such as a
dialog box pops up or I switch to another application), it crashes. If the
listbox is not dropped down, it works fine. Every single time Access will
crash if there is an open listbox and focus is taken away from it without
first closing the listbox dropdown. I'm using Access 2002 with SP3 installed.

Hi Dan,

My first suggestion in cases like this is to reboot your computer. Then try some basic file
system maintenance, including deleting temporary files, running ScanDisk and running Disk
Defragmenter. Meanwhile, determine if the problem is with the .mdb file, or with your computer.
Copy your database to another PC and try the same experiment. If you find that the crash does not
occur on a different PC, then you've got something hosed up on your system. The quickest fix will
likely be taking the shotgun approach: backup all critical files first, FDisk, Format, re-load
software, and then re-apply all patches for the operating system, Office, JET, your antivirus
software, etc.

Good Luck!

Tom
