Open pictures of photogallery in new window

clicking on a thumbnail picture of a photogallery causes the browser to display the big size picture in a window.
how to arrange it, so that the big size picture will be opened in a new window??

if you now use the right top cross then the browser ends. so you are forced to use the back button of the browser and i do not like that
