Open PowerPoint windwo within Show

Any ideas how I can make links to other PowerPoint presentations from a
PowerPoint show so that the linked presentation opens in the normal slide
editor mode rather than as a show?

I believe that links from a Show open in Show mode. That's just the way
it is. However, you can set your link up as an action setting (right-
click on the object to be linked and choose Action Settings). Instead of
choosing a hyperlink, choose Run Program and pick the PowerPoint file as
the one to run. The biggest drawback of this method is that in PowerPoint
2003, you get the annoying "using your computer in any way can cause
viruses" message (OK, that's not an exact quote of the message).

David,

Thanks I tried that. However, the PowerPoint files I am opening are on CD
and when I use the "run program" hyperlink I get a can't find program error,
perhaps because it is looking for PowerPoint onthe CD.

Any further thoughts?

That's strange. If PowerPoint is on the computer, it should open the
file in PowerPoint (as if you double-clicked on the file) even the file
is on a CD. I don't have any other ideas. Maybe someone else does.
