OPEN SAVE CANCEL - OPEN Missing from Web

For most users they get these 3 options when accessing a template on out
SharePoint Portal. Now today one of the users who uses from frequently is
missing the OPEN button. The only options are SAVE and CANCEL.

Recently with Office SP3 the file extensions for TIF and TIFF were changed
and exhibited this same behavior. Does anyone know if there was a change to
Infopath as well. I am loohing for either the ASSOC and FTYPE commands or
registry entries to correct this issue.

I would guess that their program defaults have been messed up, so it no
longer knows to use InfoPath to open an .xsn or .xml.

I would save and then right click and open with and see what program options
there are and reset the default.

I looked at this. There is no difference between the users file extension
settings and mine when I log onto the same system. I reset the users just in
case but it didn't fix the issue. So I would assume that there is another
spot in the registry that has been corrupted in the users hive but I have not
been able to diagnose it. I have little background on InfoPath to work from.

I copied and altered a template and made it a CAB file to see what
extensions were included and so far that has lead nowhere.

My problem is that this isn't happening to just one user on one machine.
There appears to be quite a number of people effected on many machines but
not all users on one machine. So, obviously recreating profiles will mean
overhead that I would like to avoid.

We didn't start ot have this problem until we applied Office SP3. When that
happened it changed the file extension assignments for TIF and TIFF. Guess I
was wondering if it made a change to InfoPath as well. I can't find a single
Microsoft article similar to this issue that I could work from. You would
think with all of the programs that open files from the browser there would
have to be a decent article somewhere.

I also ran the detect and repair and chose to reset defaults and no keep the
personalized aspects. I am at a dead end.

Thanks for responding though; much appreciated.
