open/save documents other than default place

I have a problem with open/save documents from office-programs from my laptop
XP-pro with SP 2 (and yes, I'am connected to a network..). If I open Word and
then open file dialog and then choose another directory than default, the
mouse pointer turn to a busy icon and thats all...Taskman shows that the
program do "Not responing". I tried downloading XP Office service pack 3, but
that does not help. Heeelp....

Try disconnecting any mapped network drives that are not currently not
available.
