Open Web doesn't remember password

Installed FrontPage 2002 on XP-Professional and have the
following minor problem:
Open Web will not remember password even so I request this.
I didn't have this problem on the prior Win98 platform.
I'll appreciate all suggestions.

I was under the impression that it was up to your webhost whether or not it
was saved. Am I mistaken? I've had to enter mine in every time using Win 98
and XP Pro.

I think it all depends on how the host has permissions configured, as I took
have a few sites that I most always enter the login info. However it could
also be how you are opening the web from within FP.

When you do File Menu | Open Web and you see your site listed, double click
to open it and you should just have to click OK, if the login was original
stored.

That is how it used to work under WIN98 but now I have to
enter the password every time I load FP. If I close the
site but leave FP loaded, FP will remember and open w/o
pswd-prompt. At the first open I check the
option "remember my password" but this feature doesn't
work from one FP load to the next!?
