Open with blank slide...

When I open Powerpoint 2002, it will always start with a slide with a "click
to add title" and "click to add subtitle" area.

Is there a way to make it, by default, start with a *blank* slide? i.e., no
content or text layout?

If you modify the blank.pot template and change the slide layout of that first
slide in the template to "blank layout". See:
