In mdb A I'm using opencurrentdatabase to open an mdb B which will
compact the tables that are attached to mdb A (I assume this is the
only way to do this because you cannot do it from mdb A because the
tables mdb is then open)
On my development pc, this works fine. On the customer's pc, it
prompts the user to login (all these mdbs are secured using an mdw
file which is common to all three mdbs).
The other strange thing, which may be a clue, is that on the
development pc, when mdb B has compacted the tables and runs mdb A to
restart the application, the main form in mdb A opens but fails to
show ANY controls!! Yet on the customer's pc, the form shows up with
all the controls visible.
I am at a loss, because I cannot find any reference to this kind of
problem, perhaps because it's not an easy thing to search for.
