Openiing Access Database files through Internet Explorer

Jimmy

We have a local intranet site set up and one of the links is to an Access
database file. When a user clicks the link they are given the option to open
or save the database or to cancel the action.

We would like to take away the option to save and give them only the ability
to open the file or cancel the action, is there a way to do that?

Please let me know what other information I can provide to help solve this
issue.

The dialog that is encountered is not something controlled by Access.
The option to Open, Save, Cancel is a considered a security option so
I don't think there is a way to disable it and if there is a way,
perhaps through a script, I wouldn't recommend it as it would leave
the user vulnerable since it would automatically open any Access
database they may encounter.

However this is also a Windows related question rather than an Office
related question so you may want to post this in a Windows newsgroup.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
