Opening a database via Citrix

K

I have a user who connects to our network using Citrix. When she tries to
open any Access databases, she gets the error that the database path is not
found or the database is not in a recognizable format. Typically this would
signal that the database is corrupt, but I am able to open these same
databases straight on network without any problems. I am not using Citrix.
What could be causing this problem?

TIA!

Kim,

Going to need a wee bit more information...

1. Everybody on the same Access version?
2. Is the database split?
3. If split are you using UNC instead of *hard* coding a path?
4. How many Users are accessing the database?

Everyone is using the same version of access. The database is not split.
Normally only one person is in the database at a time.

Thanks!

Kim,

One, the database should be split... but that's another issue. Is she
getting to the datbase via a shortcut or navigating to it? It sounds like
she needs to navigate to it and open it. If she is using a shortcut then
recreate the shortcut.

This database just contains a table, so there is no reason to split the
database. She is navigating to it and not opening it through a shortcut.
This issue happens to any database that she tries to open via Citrix even
those that are split.

Kim,

Is Access installed in Citrix? Patches up to date? Using any ActiveX
controls? Folder permissions? Have you tried to log-on thru Citrix to see
if you get the same results? What version of Access?

How is she opening the database? Double Click?
Right Click? Access first, then "open"?

Try all three methods (plus any other you can think of)
