Opening a .mdb file?

I have a file that has appeared in my documents...ixdb.mdb. To open the file
Windows needs to know what prog created it ? When I investigated further I
discovered this file was an Access Database File. However, I do not know how
to open this file??

Do you have Microsoft Access? If so, open it with that. If not, then you
can't open it.

I guess a more important issue here is what you mean by "appeared"? I would
personally not open anything that "appeared" in one of my folders.

I agree with Rick as a Systems Administrator, if you do not know where it
came from it's best to delete and NOT open it. Also you need to find out how
it Just appeared on your System, you may have more problems if you do not
know how it got on your System. Careful what you process on the System!

James,

Do a quick google on that filename. It looks like a program you may have
may use that as a default db for some purpose. I didn't spend much time
looking into it, but it may be harmless (even useful).

Here's the site I looked at...

As the previous posters noted, however, I would be VERY cautions opening a
file that just appeared. Perhaps you might want to quarantine the file for a
while to see if it adversely affects any other program. I would also point
my virus scanner at it to see if it can find anything wrong with it.

Good luck.
