opening a .pub

I have Win XP home and the office is Works Suite, I have all of the current
up-dates but I am not able to find a way to open this file extension. I do
not want to buy a program just to open this. Any Ideas?

Thanks Bob, I wrote back to the sender to see if they would resend it in a
different format, I am sure they will send as a PDF so that will work.

Unfortunately only MS Publisher is usually able to open its proprietary format .pub files. (There was a viewer for .Pub files at one
time, but it no longer works on the last several file versions).

If you know the author and you don't need to edit the file ask them to send it to you in .PDF file format or in .MHT (file Save as
Single Web Page) format. The PDF files have available a free viewer and .MHT files generally can be opened in a web browser.
