Opening a web page as text

I have saved a web page as text and wish to open it in Word for easier
reading and reviewing than Notepad allows.

Word identifies the HTML and opens the document as a web page rather than as
an ordinary text document.

Can I turn off this automatic rendering?

If so, how?

If you check the box for "Confirm conversion at Open" on the General tab of
Tools | Options, you'll be allowed to choose what format to open in.
