Opening a Word-document from Sharepoint doesn't fire AutoExec-macro

Hi all,

we have a Word template system that relies on AutoExec to run when Word is
started. My problem is that when opening a Word document from within
Sharepoint AND word is not running, the Autoexec macro doesn't fire.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem?

Thanks

It may have something to do with the way SharePoint launches Word. I've seen
this problem with other document management systems - especially around they
way they create new documents from within the DMS. (AutoNew macros don't fire
b/c the DMS doesn't intiate a "File | New" event, instead just creating a
copy of the document in the document store and opening this copy.)

Unfortunately, you're probably not going to get much help in this newsgroup,
as it's likely that the problem is related to SharePoint rather than Word.
You may want to try posting this question in the SharePoint NG instead.

I recall reading a suggestion here about having your autoexec macro setting
a flag somewhere (possibly the value of a variable in the addin) and then
have your other code check for the existence of/setting of that flag and
take appropriate action depending upon the result.

Hope this helps.
