Opening a Word Document

I have been trying to open word documents but keep getting a message saying
that the file is not available and when I close it I get another message
about Normal.dot
I have deleted all the normal.dot files and reinstalled/repair but still no
luck. It happens to all doc files I try to open

and have no clue how to disable a plug

Hi, Cher. "How" depends on which versions of Norton and Windows you have, but generally the Office Plugin option is in something like Start | Programs | Norton | Options | Miscellaneous.

Yeh that was the problem, I couldn't even unistall norton antivirus without
errors, but have it all working now, thanks
