Opening a wordperfect file attachment (.dat extension)

I got an email from a law firm w/a form I'd ask for. I use word, the form is
wordperfect. I can't open or preview it--any ideas? Thanks!

..dat is NOT a WordPerfect file extension. WordPerfect is either .wpd or .doc
(AFAIK) depending on the version.

Sounds like they've sent it to you in Rich Text Format and the message
didn't get properly converted to HTML.
Ask them to sent it again and have them verify that they have their message
format set to HTML or Plain Text instead of Rich Text.
