Opening an AUTOCAD DWG in Vision v2003 and v2007

I have tried to opened an AUTOCAD drawing many times unsuccessfully. For some
reasion it does not work despite having sufficient memory.

ther eis alsway a message that reads"Cannot open file. The file may not be a
DWG or DXF file..."

Can anyone help?

It may be the version of AutoCad. What version was the drawing created in?

Visio does not recognize the file format, if possible save the drawing in
the AutoCAD 2002 format. Note depending on the type of objects in the
drawing you still may run into additional issues.

You cannot open an AutoCAD 2004 .dwg file or a later version of an AutoCAD
dwg file in Visio 2007 and in Visio 2003
