Opening attachments hiden by Outlook

Hi I am unable to download attachments like access files that are sent to me
in Outlook. I can not figure out how to disable this feature. It was simple
in OE but not in Outlook.

Any suggestions. I am a programmer and I need to be able to exchange these
files with my coworkers.
