opening .csv files over sfu network in excel

Hello

I am getting errors when trying to open .csv files over a
sfu 3.0 gateway to a unix box using excel. The error
refers to the files being read only. However if i use
notepad the files open correctly. The unix permissions
are correct as all other files open perfectly.

Any ideas ?
