Opening Downloaded csv files

When I download a csv file in safari, a window opens as if the file is going to be opened in excel, but it does not finish. When I click on the file in the download window, Leopard tries to open parallels instead of excel:mac. Is there a way to resolve these issues?

From within Excel use File> Open to open the downloaded file - Does that
make any difference? If so save in .docx & you should be OK.

Make sure the file has a .csv extension & that you specify that the fie type
opens with EXCEL 2008 through the file's GET INFO window.
