Opening Excel file

When a second Excel 2003 file is opened, the original is
no longer displayed in the Windows taskbar along the
bottom nor is it visible when toggling through programs
using alt+tab. The original file is not closed and is
only visible in the "Window" pull-down screen within
Excel. I have made sure all updates for Office 2003 are
applied but the problem persists. Has anyone else seen
this behavior? Any advice is much appreciated.

Could it be as simple as:

Tools|Options|View tab|check Windows in Taskbar

???

Try Windows / Arrange / Cascade (or Tile)
Then, use CTL+F6 to switch between them
