Opening Excel

My Excel was working fine in the beginning. I have had this Mac for just a few months. Now when I try to open it I get the following message:
"NOT ENOUGH MEMORY"
I have checked the memory and there is an abundance since this is a fairly new machine.
Suggestions?

That error - oddly enough - rarely has anything to do with RAM :) Make sure
you have Office & OS X fully updated, repair disk permissions & restart your
Mac. Additionally, I'd suggest that you get out of the habit of leaving your
Mac running 24/7 and get into the habit of relaunching *any* application at
least once per day.

If you still have a problem come back for further suggestions.
