My problem is as follows:
In opening an existing document by clicking the file's
icon on the toolbar, the word application,s title bar
then begins to blink and the word application on the task
bar also begins to blink. The My Documents folder does
not open but the application on the title bar and the
task bar just blinks. If the Word application on the task
bar is clicked once, the word application then closes but
the word application on the task remains and continues to
blink with a change in the color to brownish. If the
blinking brownish word application on the task bar is
again clicked, the word application reopens with the My
Documents folder open. In the case of Excel, the opening
of an existing document occurs properly. Thus, the
problem is limited to Word. Operating System is Windows
XP. Application is Office XP which is Windows 2000 I
believe.
