Opening files made from templates

I created a template and create files from it. Once I
exit excel and return, open the file, then try open
another existing file, the open window puts me at the '95'
folder rather than the folder where all my files are
kept. Ideas are welcome! Thanks!

select Tools | Options | General Tab and set the default file location to
something like:

C:\Documents and Settings\Tom\My Documents\Excel Files

Trevor: Thanks. I do have a default folder already set
up. The only time excel does not take me to the default
folder is when I create a file from my custom template,
save it in my default folder and then close excel, reopen
excel and then open the created file. The next time I
hit 'open' the open file dialog box goes to the 95 folder
instead of my default. If I go through this process with
any file NOT made from my custom template, the open dialog
box goes to my default folder. UGH!
Thanks again for the idea, though.
