Opening infopath form in Internet Explorer

Shilpa

Hi,

I am using Infopath 2007. My form has a few controls that have basic control
level validations (like cannot be blank, number, etc) and some validations
that are programmed in.

The form is mailed to users who will fill the form and submit it back to an
email id.

The problem is, the form is mail to users having external email accounts
like hotmail and gmail. These users may not have InfoPath. Hence, they need
to be able to download the form (xml and xsn file), fill it out (by opening
the form in Internet Explorer), and submit/mail it back as an attachment to
an email id.

How do I achieve this?

Regards,
Shilpa

Hey Shipla,
Unfortunately I don't think this solution is going to work,
The InfoPath email a form functionality is dependent on the following
1: The end user is accessing the email using Outlook
2: the end user has InfoPath 2007 client installed on their machine

As you are attempting to email this form to users outside the organization
it is not possible to ensure they fulfill these requirements.

My suggestion (assuming you have access to the products) is to host the form
using SharePoint and make that available to your external users. This would
remove the requirement for your end users to have InfoPath installed
locally.

Apologies for being the bearer of bad news but I hope this helps,

Cheers
