File > Open > type in URL.

Sorry to be so stupid but I click file-> open and type in
the URL in the file name. then I click open I don't know
where to look for the pagename.htm.cnt file How do I open

From within FP, File Menu | Open Web / Site, enter URL; then open the _private folder, right click
on the .cnt folder and select to open in Text Editor (notepad).
