Opening Microsoft Word

I have installed Microsoft Office 2003 Standard Edition on a Windows XP
Machine. When I go to ope MS Word I get an error message that reads:

The Global template, NORMAL.DAT, is already open as an add-in program.

What does that mean and how do I get rid of it?

Thank you

In Word, click on Tools | Options | File Locations. If the "User
Templates" folder and the "Startup" folder are the same, then
that is what is causing the error message. In Word 2002 and
2003, the default Startup folder is "C:\Documents and
Settings\<YourUsername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup",
and the default User Templates folder is "C:\Documents and
Settings\<YourUsername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates".
