When I start excel hundreds of sheets keep opening up. I
stop this end with end task. What is the problem?

Sheets or Workbooks? If *Workbooks*, you may have the alternative startup
location set in Tools, Options, General. In XL XP this is named:

'At Startup, open all files in:' - which is what it really means!

This is in Office 2000
I am unable to do anything but end it with ctl alt del
It opens up that way.

Have a look in your Xlstart folder (probably c:\program files\microsoft
office\office). Whatever is here will open on opening Excel.

I opened excel and hit esc and that stoped it. The
problem is in the macros, I'm not familiar with them but
I do have to learn. It said something about going into
the hidden files, don't know where that is but I'll find
it. Thank you for your help.
