Opening Office files takes longer than you expect

Using windows XP Pro with M/Soft Office 2003

Opening Office files takes longer than I expect. This occures when I am in
any Office program and I want to open a document using the "Look In" box.
This does not happen when I use the icons to move between folders.

When I click in the "Look In" box, the system freezes for about 20 - 30
seconds then I am allowed to move in between folders, even if it is on my
hard drive or another computer on the network.

I have researched and have not found this exact sitution.

Correction:

This problem DOES happen also while using the icons to open documents.

THank you that completely solved my problem, when I would use Tools, then
Find, to find a patient's name, it would take forever. I have recently
installed a wireless network HP print. Whew. I use that find feature a lot
and was totally taking forever to get any work done.
