Opening presentations on the web

I am using Powerpoint 2003. When I open a presentation stored on my hardrive
it opens on NORMAL mode. But when I go to the web and try to open a
presentation if opens as a slide show. The extension of the file is set to
PPT and NOT PPS.

When I right click on the presentation I cannot switch it to Normal mode. I
have checked IE settings, and the file Type settings as well but no luck.
This has been bothering me for a while and I cannot find the solution.

Any suggestions?
