Opening shortcut bar changes display settings.

Running Office XP, whenever I open the shortcut bar, the monitor colour
setting switches automatically to "lowest 7 bit" display. I can change it
back manually but thereafter whenever I click a button on the shortcut bar
the display changes back to the "lowest" setting. Any suggestions as to how
to overcome this?
Thanks in advance, Greg.
