Opening Templates

S

Shane

In our company, we want to create project templates and save them to the
project server. When we save the template, everything seems to go fine.
However, when we go to open the template, it's not located in the list of
files in the server. In the project server file list, under version, it only
lists "published", no templates. What am I doing wrong?

You are looking in the wrong place. To open an enterprise project template
from Project Server, click File - New, click the "On my computer" link in
the sidepane on the left, click the Enterprise Templates tab, select the
project, and then click the OK button. Hope this helps.

Shane:

Enterprise templates work almost the same way using Server as they do in the
stand-alone application. You don't access them from PWA, you access them
from the Project Client

Start Project
Select File > New
In the Templates section of the New Project pane on the left, select "On my
computer"
In the Templates dialog, select the Enterprise Tab
Viola!

Granted, the "On my computer" thing is a bit misleading, but other than
that, it's just like old times.
