When I choose Microsoft Excel Program to open a text file I get thi
error "This file does not have a program associated with it fo
performing this action. Create an association in the Folder option
Control Panel"

I used to open it few days back But I don't know what happened :-( al
of a sudden it stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled O2k Pr
with SP1 & SP3 still not working.

Can someone help me out on this one.

Thanks
Addian

Hi

If you right-click on the file, you should get an 'Open with . . ' option.
Click this and then select Excel from the list. This will associate this
type of file with Excel.

And don't forget to check that "always use this program to open this file" box.

(You may want to do one w/o the check--just to see if it worked ok, though.)

Why would anyone want to have *.txt files associated with Excel by default?

I don't understand the phrase "choose Microsoft Excel Program to open a Text
file".

With Excel up and running go to File>Open and Files of Type(all files).

Find the *.txt file and click "open".

Sounds like Adianni has lost Notepad as the associated program for *.txt
files.

Associate *.txt files with Notepad.

I don't know--I wouldn't do it.

But I've seen people who ask for it. I guess they never use notepad for .txt.
