Opening Word Attachments from Outlook

When I try to open Word documents sent as attachments from Outlook I am
getting an error message that "The system cannot find the file specified."
Word attempts to open but then the error message pops up. If I open Word
first, then I have no issues. I have checked file associations to confirm
they are correct, went through all the options in both Word and Outlook and
still nothing.

Has anyone seen this problem?

You don't happen to be using some anti-virus scanner that hooks into
Office? Say Norton and it's infamous Office Plugin?

We are using McAfee and strangely enough this is only happening on certain
machines. It is not a global issue.

Does McAfee have a similar "feature" available? I suggest comparing the
"working" PCs with the "non-working" ones.
