opening Word Perfect 11 documents in Word

L

LindaPell

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have recently switched from a PC to Mac. I have numerous Word Perfect version 11 (for Windows) documents that I used to be able to open in Word on my PC. I can no longer open them. This is a serious problem because it would take hours to convert all the hundreds of word perfect files to Word on my old PC and then transfer them to my MAC. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I'm afraid WP filters have not been supplied with Mac Office since a few
versions after Corel (I believe owned WP at the time) abandoned the Mac
platform altogether. If you have that many documents to be converted it may
be worth it to invest in MacLinkPlus from DataViz, which I believe provides
for batch conversions. Check it out at:

This looks perfect, but do you know if it works with Snow Leopard? Thank you.

Hi Linda;

Glad it looks promising -- I've always had a high regard for their products.

From that web site:
*****************************************

System Requirements

* Mac OS X 10.2 or higher, including 10.6 Snow Leopard

Please Note:

* MacLinkPlus Deluxe will run on Intel Macs via Apple's Rosetta
environment and on PowerPC-based Mac computers. However, the benefits of
running MacLinkPlus Deluxe as a Universal application are not significant.
Due to the nature of the program as a file translation utility, the program
will only become active and rely on system resources when a translation is
being performed.

* MacLinkPlus Deluxe 14 is still available for older computers
running OS 9.1 - 10.1. Simply click on any "Buy" button or link for the
option to purchase MacLinkPlus Deluxe 14.
