opening xlsx files in Excel 2004

Can anyone tell me how I can open a excel xlsx file (created on a PC in Excel 2007) in my version of Excel 2004 on my MAC?
I am working on a PC platform at work but would like to open the same file at home on my Mac. (I would rather not have to save it as a 1997-2003 version in order to open these files)
Is there a file or update I can download to do this?

Thanks

David

Hi David -

Using 2007 to save in the older format is the fastest & easiest way. MS has
yet to provide any Mac converters for .xlsx files, although Open Office &
several other programs are capable of doing so, and I believe there are some
third party converters out there as well. Depending on what 2007 features
were used though, conversion may not render the desired result. At least if
you save in the older format you can get an immediate compatibility check.
