OpenOffice

My company has recently gone to OpenOffice for the masses but has allowed
some of us to remain civilized and continue using MS Office. The problem is
most of the people using OO are not too computer literate and keep saving the
doc's with OO extensions.

Does Microsoft have a converter so that Word can open OO documents? If not,
does anyone know of a third party who might have something?

Thanks in advance

If your company moves to OpenOffice, they will have
to invest in the time and resources to train their personnel.
The training expense will likely exceed the cost of using
Microsoft Office in the first place.

Word cannot open native-format OO word processor files. I don't
know of any third-party converters. OO is free to anyone who
wants it. If you need to open OO files, then install OO and use
it to open OO files, and "save as" from OO to Word (.doc) or Rich
Text Format (.rtf) format which Word can open.
