You get an "Operation Failed" message when you open
Outlook 2002 and then click on send/recieve. If you then
close outlook, and open the task manager you see that a
copy of Outlook is still running. Ending this task solves
the problem and you can then open outlook and use it
normally. If you look at task manager before you close
outlook when you get the error you actually see 2 copies
of outlook.exe running. This situation occurs randomly so
I cannot provide much additional information. It appears
that outlook does not always close completely and does
not check for duplicates when opening. I am running
office XP on a WinXP computer. I do not have Winfax or
other 3rd party outlook applications installed.
