Optical Character Recognition

Can you give me any information on using OCR in
conjunction with EXCEL spreadsheets ? I have Abbyy
Finewriter on my Microsoft Small Office disc. Is
it possible to scan a page of numbers from a paper
copy and then actually use them as cell values in
Excel ?

Yes
Recently I was unlucky enough to have to do this. I think the scanning
software is what would include functionality to put the data right into
Excel. Mine didn't, but it had options to export to wordpad or RTF. I chose
wordpad. It was a lot of work for my batch because of the pages I was trying
to scan (small font, human made marks on it, cut off digits), hopefully
yours are better laid out.
